Global Tech Summit Nutanix 2019 (GTSX19)

Global Tech Summit Nutanix 2019 (GTSX19)

28. March 2019 Stefan Comments 1 comment

I would like to write a short report about the experiences of this year’s Global Tech Summit Nutanix (GTSX19).

I had the honor to attend the Global Tech Summit Nutanix (GTSX19) in Barcelona (Spain) and it was great!
As a Nutanix Technology Champion, it was doubly great to get even deeper insights into future products and roadmaps.

DAY 0:
Thomas and me arrived late on sunday afternoon in Barcelona, after a short checkin at the hotel, we went – like a local – to eat delicious tapas.

Day 1:
On day 1 the registration for the event as well as an evening event for networking took place.
When you interact with people, the personal component is extremely important. You read eachother, you hear eachother, but a personal conversation is essential in daily business life.

So Thomas and I plunged deep into the Nutand Cloud! ๐Ÿ™‚
Here you can see some impressions.

Day 2:

Day 2 was the right start with Sessions and Hands on Labs.

The HPOC (Hosted PoC) Lab! It was breathtaking. There were over 21 different labs here.
You sit in the middle of the cream de la creme of the Nutanix SE EMEA! Everyone is working on labs, listening to talks or preparing for the hackathon.

Thomas and I took part in the hackathon and together with Thomas Findelkind from Nutanix we formed the team “Candle”. Our theme was “Calm Dark Site Deployment Architecture”.

Our team included 3 partners SEs (Germany) and 2 Nutanix SE (Germany).

Day 3:

Day 3 consisted of a lot of work for our Hackathon Team Candle. We were allowed to present our project Candle on Thursday (last day of GTSX), in front of more than 350 SEs! Wow, a bit of a pressure to succeed, however but we took it well! ๐Ÿ˜€

Day 4

the presentation day!

Ohhh Myyy Shhhh – of course we didn’t have a panic, we had enough towels.

We got everything ready in time for the presentation, after a short vote we went on stage!

After 4 days of information, networking, fun and a lot of work, I can say in retrospect:

The first GTSX with partners (yes for the first time there is a selection of partner SEs (10 from Germanyโ€ฆ) was a complete success for Thomas and me. We come back with insider infos, new technologies and skillsets.

This event will bring us extremely forward in our daily business.
I’ll be there again next time!

The event is now coming to an end, we are sitting together with the Nutanix SE colleagues. I hope that Nutanix will continue this course – to involve the partners in this way. This is an extreme commitment from Nutanix to the partners. Thank you!
